Never been to the show before and not sure how to get there? Here’s a list of handy travel tips.
Well this Ideal Home Show was a special one for us. This year is of course our 20th year anniversary so we decided to turn things up a notch. This year we hosted a special VIP evening event hosted on both Thursday nights at the show. If you came along during one of those evenings, or any other time during our time at the show, we’d like to personally thank you all for your time and support! It has all been very appreciated and we hope you all had a fabulous time! And if you were unable to join us at the Ideal Home Show 2016 event, don’t you worry. We’d love to see you at our next event which is Grand Designs Live 2016.
Besides the wonderful VIP evening events we hosted, we had a wonderful time being back at the Ideal Home Show as their Ideal Garden & Champagne Bar sponsors. There was all kinds of new decor ideas and home inspiration tips as well as some fantastic exhibitions and products on display. We were quite taken by the display of gorgeous food and drinks selection as well as enjoying our time checking out guest talks by Martin Lewis, Craig Phillips, Katie Piper, Alan Titchmarsh, Dean Edwards and of course the one and only Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Can things that were hot – still be cool after 20 years?
This year was notable for the birth of the first clone, Dolly the Sheep, which was pretty cool. It was also the time that the first girl band with Ginger, Sporty, Posh, Scary and Baby of the Spice Girls’ had their first hit ‘Wannabe’.
Also hitting the news in ’96 was the introduction of the first genetically modified (or GM) food to go on sale in British supermarkets. Modified tomato puree was the cause of all the fuss with some critics dubbing it a “Frankenstein food”.
The world of sport was dominated by England’s hosting of the European football championships (Euro ’96). The England v Scotland group stage match drew much attention with Gazza’s wonder goal eventually stealing the win for the home team.
Entertainment wise, carrot topped Chris Evans re-invented the chat show format with his hit show ‘TFI Friday’. Presenting celebrity gossip, the hippest bands and lad friendly guests, this unscripted, chaotic program briefly made Evans the most sought after man on TV … we’ve yet to see how he does on with his latest incarnation on ‘Top Gear’.
The big screen was blessed with one of the best British films, ‘Trainspotting’. Despite featuring heroin, needles, vomit and disgusting toilet bowls, this was the coolest thing of the year and took Ewan McGregor from nowhere to ‘Star Wars’.
The more family friendly film of 1996 was ‘Toy Story’; it being the first feature length movie ever to be animated entirely by computer. The results were quite stunning and people flocked to see ‘Woody’ (a pull-string cowboy) and ‘Buzz Lightyear’ (a high-tech space ranger) battle it out to become little Andy’s favourite toy.
So, is there anything [...]
It happens once a year (okay maybe twice a year) but our time at the Ideal Home Show Christmas 2015 in London was nothing short of fantastic! From the get-go it was a busy schedule at the event, hosted by none other than the Ideal Home Show celebrity ambassadors Katie Piper, Olly Smith, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and Gino D’Acampo. Everything one could want to see was at the show. There was music, there was Christmas trees, there was all kinds of yummy goodies, awesome gadgets and fabulous fashionable pieces on offer. If you’ve never been to a Ideal Home Show Christmas event before, it is a great place where you can simultaneously shop for both your home and for Christmas gifts.
We had such a wonderful time at the Ideal Home Show Christmas 2015 event. Met a lot of interesting people, business was booming and there’s was so much to see throughout the Olympia venue in just 5 days. Before you know it, it’ll be November 2016 where will be doing this all over again. Fun times!
Be sure to check out the gallery below of our time at the Ideal Home Show Christmas event in London. Don’t worry if you didn’t have a chance to make it to the show. There’s always next Christmas.
Another Ideal Home Show Christmas event has come and gone and this time we were back up North in Manchester. Usually the Manchester show is quite smaller and more intimate than its big sister equivalent in London. Nevertheless there was a lot to see and do and the visitors were treated to a lovely time.
With brand ambassadors Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen & Gino D’Acampo opening up the event, alongside Katie Piper & Olly Smith making appearances too, we were treated to quite a visual celebrity feast. We also caught had the pleasure of seeing bakers of GBBO fame John Whaite and Laddete to Lady/Kitchen Super Heroes star, Rosemary Shrager.
With only 4 weeks left till Christmas, being at the Ideal Home Show Christmas 2015 in Manchester was a great opportunity for some festive ideas and Christmas tips and gifts for the holidays. We can’t think of a better way to get those seasonal ideas flowing. Next stop, Ideal Home Show in London!

We’ve had the pleasure of being at the NEC once again over the weekend as sponsors for Grand Designs Live Birmingham 2015. Being back at the NEC brought back at lot of fond memories of our times exhibiting here in the marvellous centre and this time wasn’t an exception. From seeing everyone’s favourite host Kevin McCloud to seeing our favourite show ambassadors Jo Hamilton and George Clarke. We also saw up close and personally the likes of world renowned Interior Designer Kelly Hoppen MBE, the New Homes and Communities lead at long established BRE, Gwyn Roberts, founder of Studio Bark Wilf Meynell, Patrick Bradley of PB Architects and BBC1’s DIY SOS’ Mark Millar.
Perhaps our biggest highlight of the event came on the first day when Kevin McCloud made one heck of an entrance at Grand Designs Live Birmingham 2015.
Yup. Lexus UK created an fully functioning, origami car out of laser cut cardboard. You can read more about how they came up with the idea here.
Our four days at Grand Designs had gone so quickly it felt like it had just finished when we had just began. But we won’t be too down about it as we have the Ideal Home Show Christmas shows to look forward to next month. The shows will be in both London and Manchester. Feel free to check out the gallery of images and to also click onto our Pinterest to see more visuals from Grand Designs Live Birmingham 2015.

Ideal Home Show Scotland came and went back in the end of May and it was a fantastic show! We had the pleasure of meeting up with designer Diarmuid McGavin at the IHS show! A wonderful gentleman as always, he spent some time with us during the show (of which we loved every moment of it). But the Ideal Home Show wasn’t all about hot tubs. There was all kinds of newfangled products with lots of different stands and showrooms on view. We checked out Virgin Media’s Smart Home, which had the UK’s fastest broadband network in action, and allowed visitors to discover show-stopping telly with the TiVo® service. The home was divided into handy life-like living spaces including a kitchen, lounge, study and outdoor space so that visitors could see each product in its intended environment. Erskine had some wonderful garden displays on view, as well as learning some helpful tips and DIY hacks at the Ideal Home Theatre.
Also there were some of our favourite celebrity ambassadors; Amanda Lamb, Diarmuid Gavin, John Amabile and George Clarke!

We’ve been on the event trail recently and we just wrapped up our latest stop in London. We were one of the main sponsors of Grand Designs Live again this year, having spent the past nine days participating in the event based at the ExCel Centre. With other leading brands such as Virgin Media, Lexus & Express Bi-Folding Doors as other sponsors, we were always going to be in good company. The show was fantastic and the amazing Kevin McCloud was as amazing as ever!
It was a brand bonanza with the likes of Airflow Developments, Kloeber UK, Miele, Smeg & Vaillant UK present, there was so much to see and do. Including the Grand Theatre, Grand Village, Live Kitchen Experience, Eco Trail, Salvage Workshop & the McCloud’s Green Heroes.
Besides having the legendary Kevin McCloud with us, we also had the wonderful George Clarke, Charlie Luxton, Jo Hamliton, Richard Coutts, Pollyanna Woodward & Levi Roots.

Whether it’s garden or interior related or if you’re looking for a new product or piece of home tech, there’s something for everyone. Our time at the Ideal Home Show was amazing! Hosted in the famed 1886 Olympia London exhibition centre in West Kensington London, Ideal Home Show 2015 was a surefire hit. With attendees and guests from up and down the country, the 18 day event including everything from build products, home-ware and decor inspiration, to food, gadgets and clothing (and everything else in-between). We reprised our role as Ideal Gardens sponsors again this year, with other headlining sponsors which included Lexus, Virgin Media, House Beautiful, Thirst Pockets, Thomas Sanderson & Express Bi-Folding Doors. We were honoured (as always!) to be sponsoring the fantastic Ideal Home Show alongside such fantastic brands.
We were treated to seeing our lovely celebrity hosts throughout the whole 18 days, which including Katie Piper, Gregg Wallace & Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. The celebrity ambassador host line-up also included George Clarke, Alan Titchmarsh, Suzi Perry & Martin Lewis.
